Jonathan Marsh is a student photographer currently studying at the School of Art and Design at Nottingham Trent University, one of the top Photographic institutions in the country. For the past 6 years his interest in photography has grown from using his fathers' digital compact camera to using the latest digital technology and traditional film and darkroom techniques, including medium and large format cameras. Jonathan has had several large commissions including the design for the 2008 Salisbury International Arts Festival brochure cover as well as working for the Royal Bank of Scotland Group to name but a few. He had his first solo exhibition at the Salisbury Arts Centre as part of the 2008 Salisbury International Arts Festival; which was a huge success and saw Jonathan sell his work internationally. Working and specializing in event photography has led to Jonathan building up a wealth of experience in this area over the years. He has catered for numerous private parties as well as large corporate events; he has also covered events such as 'The Larmer Tree' music festival ('08 & '09) and Salisbury International Arts Festival. In his time at University Jonathan has developed well-honed skills in the studio and darkroom. In his projects he has been exploring documentary as well as landscape photography as can be seen in the Gallery. Embarking on long-term projects on the impossibility of the landscape photograph and of the precarious position of modern democracy. Jonathan is available for private parties, corporate functions, bands, weddings, portraits and portfolios. "Photography, alone of the arts, seems perfected to serve the desire humans have for a moment - this very moment - to stay". ~Sam Abell |
